HOTEL MANAGER/HEAD INNKEEPER
Pratt Place Inn and Barn is a AAA four diamond boutique hotel seeking an experienced Hotel Manager. The hotel manager must have the skill and experience to achieve positive business expansion through both strategic planning and tactical execution at the local, regional, and national levels, as well as the expertise to oversee staff and to make a guest’s stay a supremely memorable experience.
The position is full time and year round. Compensation is based on experience and may be a combination of base pay plus incentives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The hotel manager will oversee the overall management of the Inn and work hand-in-hand with the Events Manager. Responsibilities include:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the Inn including reception desk, guest relations, reservations, staffing, breakfast and afternoon refreshment prep and inventory, housekeeping, accounting, maintenance, and landscaping
- Sales and marketing—planning and implementation in conjunction with the Events Manager
- Taking the initiative to develop new business through building community relations
- Building personal relationships with corporate clients
- Assisting staff at all levels as needed— innkeeping, room cleaning, and breakfast preparation, etc. to ensure the Inn always runs smoothly
- Communicating and working closely with the owners
REQUIREMENTS:
We seek an exceptional manager with strong communication and organizational skills and a congenial and outgoing personality. Equally important, this person must be excited about the challenges and opportunities of managing a start-up and will have:
- A passion for running an outstanding inn and delivering perfect service and ambience
- Experience training, managing and motivating a staff of 5+
- Significant experience working at or managing a luxury hotel or inn
- Excellent verbal and writing skills, an outgoing personality, and unfailingly polite manner
- The ability to develop and implement sales and marketing strategies that will generate high occupancy rates
- Excellent organizational talent and creativity
- The vision to enhance the guest experience through services and offerings that are original and unique
- Self-directed leadership and detail-oriented team player abilities
- A four year degree
- Speaking facility in one or more foreign languages-desired
- Proficiency with Microsoft software
